When selecting a leather cover, you can choose to have the entire piece covered in 100% top grain, or opt for high-touch areas covered in top grain, and the rest in leather match.
Palliser offers four grades of leather: 1000, 2000, 3000 and 4000 (Contact us for other options in leather or fabric upgrades)
The 1000 grade is the most affordable and is made from corrected grain leather.
The 2000 grade is made from top-grain leather and is more durable than the 1000 grade.
The 3000 grade is made from full-grain leather and is even more durable than the 2000 grade.
Finally, the 4000 grade is made from full-grain aniline leather which is the highest quality leather available.
Palliser maintains a corporate leather lab staffed by experts with extensive tannery experience. We perform a physical inspection of each hide and use a colour matching assessment using a spectrophotometer.
They test their leathers for:

Finish adhesion
Flexibility
Seam & tear strength
Top Grain Leather
Top grain leather is made from the top or outermost layer of a hide, allowing for fewer imperfections as the entire hide is used organically without altering the surface.
