I know it may not feel like it yet, but patio weather is just around the corner. This is a perfect time to start planning ahead for those family gatherings and the average Tuesday night grill out. As soon as it’s nice you will want to be outside enjoying it and you will want your patio furniture to be ready to use. Whether you’re looking for an entire lounge set complete with a sectional, chairs, coffee table, pillows and rug or you’re adding a couple chaise loungers around the pool, it’s best to get started early.

Here are some common customer questions about special orders:

What is a “special order”?

A special order just means it has been customized for you and is not in-stock at our warehouse. It does not always mean it will cost more. Customization can be choosing different colors in fabrics and finishes or going with a larger size dining table. Most patio companies offer a wide range of prices and styles based on your needs. You can get great quality, long lasting pieces on a special order that won’t break the bank.

How long will it take to order?

Special orders in the patio world range on average from 4 - 8 weeks. So if you want your furniture ready to use by May 1st you’re looking at March 1st to place that order for an 8 week turnaround time.

Where do I start?

Not familiar with “special orders”? No problem. Peters expert patio staff can help direct you to the products that work with your budget and design. Our friendly staff are knowledgeable and know the secrets to get the most out of your space.

What should I bring with me?

• Dimensions – A measurement of your space is very helpful. We can guide you on what pieces will fit and what won’t.
• Photos –Photos of you patio, sunroom, deck, porch or just your home in general will give an insight to which direction you want to go for a design style (traditional, casual, contemporary, etc.).
• Ideas – If you already have ideas from a website or a magazine, try to bring those with. It’s much easier to understand your vision from a picture than just a description.
• Samples –  If you have samples of stonework, woodwork, lighting, railings, paint, or anything else already located in the space this is very helpful. Getting stuck on the final detail of color can be very frustrating if you can’t remember the shade of your patio pavers.
• Patience– Planning and choosing your special orders can take time. We do our absolute best to work swiftly and answer all your questions in a timely manner. Our experts at Peters work as a team, so we’re not afraid to check with other sales staff or contact the manufacturer to find answers and ensure you’re comfortable and satisfied with the decision making process.

What if I don’t want to wait for a special order?

We understand not everyone wants to wait for a special order. Many items at Peters Billiards are stocked and ready for pick-up with-in 24 hours or have delivered within the week. Our buying staff at Peters works hard to anticipate designs, colors, and configurations that our customers will like. You might just love what we show on the floor and stock at our warehouse.

What if I special order and I don’t like it?

Peters has a wide variety of patio furniture on display including many different models to sit in and samples of upholstery, frame material, cushion styles, tile/stone and more that you can use to finalize decisions. Sitting, testing and seeing colors in person really helps envision what the final products will look and feel like. We want you to enjoy the patio season as much as possible and Peters Billiards will always work on the behalf of the customer. Because special orders are created especially for you, there would be a re-stocking fee on returns or cancellations.

Does Peters Billiards offer delivery?

Yes, we offer full white glove delivery service. Delivery is completed by Peters’ own experts who deal with these products daily. They will deliver, un-package, set-up, and display your patio furniture in its new home.  Pick up is also available from our warehouse in Edina which is located 4 miles from our showroom location.
